Vaglia has been inhabited since the pre-Roman age. Its urban structure goes back to the year one thousand with the construction of St. Peter Parish Church (983).
The area still has a vast architectural and sacred property.

Itineraries

MONTESENARIO SANCTUARY
It is one of the most religious places in Tuscany. It is situated on the top of a mount that carries the same name at the height of 800 m. and it is made up of various buildings.
Alongside there are the caves and cells once inhabited by the friars.
Hospitality for pilgrims

VILLA MEDICEA DI PRATOLINO - già Villa Demidoff
It was projected by great artists of the Florentine Renaissance like Bernardo Buontalenti and Giambologna for Francesco I de’Medici. The park with fountains and artificial caves is a symbolic allegoric route where the natural beauties go along with wonders constructed by man: the fountain statue of the Apennines is a splendid work.
